In terms of growth time, the lettuce grown in the hydroponic tower system can be harvested in about 30 days. The maturity time of the lettuce on the NFT system and the ebb and flow table system is slower than that of the tower system.
Planting quantity
Because the number of planting layers in a hydroponic tower system can be customized, the number of vegetables grown in each type of tower system varies. If lettuce is planted indoors according to the commonly used 6P7 tower system, there are 6 planting holes in one layer, 42 lettuces can be harvested in 7 layers, and 60 lettuces can be planted in the 6P10 tower system.
A single-layer flat NFT system can grow 72 lettuce plants.
The planting quantity of the ebb and flow table system can also be customized, so if the conventional style is followed, 40 lettuces can be planted in one layer, and about 80 lettuces can be planted in two layers.
Lettuce quality
Ripe lettuces appear in different states on these three hydroponic systems. The leaves of the hydroponic lettuce grown on the tower system are thicker, the leaves of the lettuce on the NFT system are relatively large, and the lettuce on the ebb and flow table system is more round and plump. In general, the lettuce grown on the three hydroponic systems have their own characteristics.
Through the comparison of these three aspects, you can see that these three hydroponic systems have their own advantages. If you choose a device that is most suitable for growing lettuce, I suggest that you can choose the hydroponic tower system. There are three reasons:
- The hydroponic tower system is more beautiful than the NFT system and the ebb and flow table system, and you can use it as a decoration indoors.
- The hydroponic tower system has a smaller footprint, it can extend upwards and grow taller like a tower, while the NFT system and the ebb and flow table system take up a bit more space than the tower system and are wider in width.
