A customer from the Maldives was looking for a solution to their resort's fresh vegetable supply challenges and introduced our small EBB Hydroponic System, which specializes in growing sprouts and microgreens. As the Maldives has poor soil and relies on imports for most of its vegetables, the resort wanted to utilize hydroponics to achieve sustainable farming and food safety!
Once installed, the EBB hydroponic system is designed to maximize the use of space through vertical shelves, efficiently cultivating popular varieties such as radish seedlings and pea seedlings in a limited space, with a growth cycle of only 7-10 days, stable yields and no need for pesticides. The planted sprouts are directly supplied to the restaurant. The customer is very satisfied with the water-saving feature of the hydroponic growing system, which is in line with the environmental protection concept of the island.
Customer feedback: “The EBB hydroponic system is easy to operate, suitable for the tropical climate, and solves our problem of shortage of fresh vegetables.” This case demonstrates the practicality and commercial value of small-scale hydroponic systems in an island environment.
